For a while there, I thought we have a purple version of the snail kite.

Beautiful photo! Very low and very near. Looks like you were flat on your chest on the ground right beside the bird. If I had not seen that blind of yours, even I would not suspect that there is someone inside.

Alright!!! Now that's what I call good engineering. Still, looking forward to seeing a photo of your blind (through PM of course). ;D

Though the general features look like Anas luzonica, the absence of the black eye stripe is quite interesting. Although not suggesting another species, it could be because all the dark feathers of this bird is washed out. The metallic green speculum on the other hand is replaced with brown. Really quite an interesting bird to see.

I also don't see any photos here and in some other posts. Must be a problem with the Flickr site or must be my internet connection. It's been so painfully sloooowwww these past days.

Congratulations on your new capture Neon. I guess, Ding's place will be the best staging ground for shooting the Philippine Cuckoo Dove. By the way Neon, I'm sure you have just overlooked it because you have labeled the PCD as M. phasianella instead of M. tenuirostris.

No problem, Eric. I will post an announcement when the doves are aplenty. It'll probably be a weekend. Can I join for birdwatching instead? Thanks Sir Ding!

Congratulations on your capture of the spoonbill. The yellow bill tip can be seen in your photo. I gotta see the spoonbill too! I hope this spoonbill tells his kins about the fame and attention he is getting here and invites more of his kind to visit us next year.

Wow! Those are nice shots. Do you also have shots of the female of this bird?

Very unfortunate munia. They use "jobos" to paint these birds which are rather permanent. This bird will only lose this color on his next moult. On the other hand, nice captures you got there Sir Ding.

The tailorbird looks like a Grey-backed Tailorbird although I'm not 100% sure. The last photo indeed an Elegant Tit.
