This thing called Bird Photography can really make the hobbyists very creative. Soon everyone will have a contraption of their own.

Hello Ding,
The WBCP sells binoculars at about 2K (can't remember exactly how much). The binocs are locally manufactured (in Cebu, I think) for Bushnell, Kenko, etc. The quality is good. In fact, most members use them including my wife.
I'll inquire if there are still stocks available and will let you know.
Best regards, Eric

Technology really progresses at a dizzying pace. I remember the time when I was so proud of my blazingly fast 486 computer running at around 40Mhz in Turbo mode. Now, even cell phones are faster than that! I wonder when the first 1 Gigapixel camera will come?

Who do you think was providing the sounds?? It's a Lyre Bird! I heard them mimic camera clicks in David Attenborough's Life of Birds series. Wait..... there a Lyre Bird in Candaba!!! A new country record!!!

34. Colasisi, though noisy and has a sharp high-pitched voice, is not a mistress but a bird.

Read about the new site on on the bird forums too. It says membership is free up to April 1, 2008 and after that you would have to pay an annual fee of $20. Haven't visited the site yet but the press release seems to very interesting not to mention the recommendation of the Master.
Here is the press release I've read:

Of course, once I find out that somebody is stealing or misusing my pics, I'd exhaust all possible legal remedies to protect my IP rights. Romy

Preventing right clicks and saving the photos can be blocked through Javascripts. But, the posts in the Philippine Pet Finder are links to the original images so that can't be prevented unless the owners hide the direct links to the photo. But then again, another work around is to direct the viewer to the original website. So I guess, photos on the net are literally "sitting ducks".

Eric, How many stars would I get using a dry-plate tintype box camera and magnesium oxide powder flash? Wow! That's a tough one. Its value alone as collector's item would, I guess, merit a legendary 6-star ranking!!!
