Nice spider macros. I love your photos with prey. Great details. Here's my contribution to this thread: My very first macro of a jumper spider on the base of my car's antenna. This one is highly cropped and the background is noisy: Taken on Nov. 24, 2006 with a Canon Powershot A630, 1/50 sec, f/2.8 An even tinier jumper that won't quit moving and keeps jumping on my camera lens: Taken on Oct. 12, 2007 with a Canon Powershot A630, 1/60 sec, f/3.5

Thanks Neon. I still need to have a DSLR because my camera is not enough to win Sir Romy's duck photo. Merry Christmas to you too!

Macro photography is currently my only alternative as I still have to own a DSLR. It's very interesting though, as you can see the details that are normally invisible to the naked eye. A tiny moth less than 15mm long. Canon Powershot A630, 1/60 sec, f/3.2, tripod, 2 sec shutter delay I am also very happy with this photo as this has a rather precise focus. As you can see, the legs which is only a few millimeters farther is already blurred. Best regards, Eric

Ate Lyds, here is another butterfly that I believe no one has asked you about. They are tiny butterflies no bigger than my pinkie fingernails. At first I thought they were moths but the antennae suggests otherwise. What species of butterfly is this please?

Hello William, I guess that is similar to a butterfly that I photographed from our garden. A Leptosia species

Yup! P&S takes good macros.... but....., only for subjects that can't run away from the photograher. Otherwise, it's a really big challenge to be as stealthy as possible so as not to spook those that can fly. ;D

Hello Jun, No need to call me Sir. I don't deserve that title that is reserved for the Masters. ;-p Hehehe.... You can post the images in the Bird Identification board so others can also see it. Looking forward to seeing your bird photos.

I also have some scanned pictures (poor quality) of birds which i cannot find in the book "A guide to the Birds of the Philippines". Not sure if its unrecorded or i just dont know how to look for it in the book hehehe Hello Jun, we would love to see those photos and help you ID them. Who knows, something unexpected might come up from them. ;D

Welcome Jun! Yup, Bislig is a place frequented by bird watchers especially PICOP. So you've met Tim Fisher eh. He not only knows a lot about birds but he is also an author of two books on Philippine birds. Looking forward to seeing your posts here.

Love your logos, Eric! Perhaps it's time to conceptualize and finalize our PBP logo? Romy Was thinking of suggesting that when I made the sig but cowered on the thought that this might be an "informal" group. But since, the Master himself said so, I second the motion!!!Calling all artistic members!Maybe you can help Sir Romy with some design ideas. ;D

This would be a better alternative to the yahoo groups. Plus, messages gets posted immediately whereas, in the yahoo groups, it sometimes takes hours before the message gets posted.
