Met up with speedmonkey (martin) at Subic to have our first birding for 2008. he showed me a site where he saw pompadour greens the day before and the sight we saw was truly amazing. we saw around 30 of these on a small fruiting balete tree. when the birds were disturbed by our presence, they transferred to a lower tree around 8 feet from the road.

thanks! with the amount of birds the balete had this morning, i'd give it 3 days before the fruits run out

Wow!! JP & Martin great shots!! I still don't have a good photo of these birds. Hope to chance on this fruiting tree next year. Eric is right, where are the females? are all 30 birds males? Cheers, Neon

Very nice. Romy has at least one nice shot of an adult female from 2005 at Subic.
