Thank you everyone. Sir William, I waited for the Pitta but it did not show itself to me Sir Ely, yes this nocturnal bird is always sleepy during the day. Am just glad I have a picture of its undertail, that is why I shared this shot even if the IQ is below par.

I think the tail racquets must be for stability (though they are ornaments in some other species like peacocks, for example). The main tail of a racquettail is barely longer than the wings, while Blue-naped, for example, have noticeably longer tails. A racquettail in flight will look short tailed because we don't see the racquets clearly. Superb pics, it goes without saying... Thank you Des. Your explanation certainly makes a lot of sense. I think someone has just pulled the wool over my eye with an earlier explanation. LOL. hahahaha! Well Des is of course the expert. Am now actually digging to see if both male and female of the species have the tail. Also trying to see if losing the "ornament" affects flight capabilities Oh well, the joys of birding and learning.

sir.. allow me to say that the second photo is one in million!!!
Taking a picture of one avian and have those kind of eyes is an achievement in itself. Here you have two of them and BOTH their eyes are captured perfectly!
This is F10 including the TC right? The technicals of this photo is just awesome! Viewing it, enjoying it and learned from it. Thank you so much for sharing!

Thank you sir. I have never tried to photograph button quails before. This one was a stroke of luck as like many birds, they don't mind vehicles. I really wanted a low angle shot but did not try.
