I took these pictures May 16. I first saw the nest April 12. I would always walk to the the nest and see how these guys were progressing. I think they got used to me. After more than a month of watching, these guys were already too big to both fit in the nest. It was getting broken already. The favorite food of these guys are cicadas. You can hear them all around our garden. So I think its a plentiful food source. I tried to time the first pic so I could get the picture of the cicada being fed to the fledglings. It usually happens so fast that I miss the moment. But I was lucky with this shot. Canon 5DMk2, Canon 500mm, 1.4x, 1/320, f8, ISO 400, tripod These are their last pics as they finally flew away the next day. Canon 5DMk2, Canon 500mm, 1.4x, 1/250, f10, ISO 400, tripod

sir.. allow me to say that the second photo is one in million!!!
Taking a picture of one avian and have those kind of eyes is an achievement in itself. Here you have two of them and BOTH their eyes are captured perfectly!
This is F10 including the TC right? The technicals of this photo is just awesome! Viewing it, enjoying it and learned from it. Thank you so much for sharing!

Great Shots!!!!!!!. I hope you were able to capture some when they were just a few days old. Today,I happened to have captured close-up photos of a Pied Fantail couple building their nest. I envy you because may not be able to go to that place to observe them as you had. Hopefully I can go to the place in a months time. Thanks for sharing. Ron

Wonderful shots Tonj ! Was this at your house? Sylvia and I were talking at the front door the other day and while we were there I heard and saw the Pied Triller at the tree right outside your front neighbor's house.

Thanks Ramon, Toto, Mark and Tina. Wow this was last year. I remember those birds well. I kept keeping an eye on their development.
