Hi Neil. Those are great documentations. Were those taken within the farm? Be greedy. Try again with a tri-pod.

Very good shot, NiKo. The powdery blue shade is something different from among the other white eye species. I hope you and Ramon were able to frame a lot of local species. I miss the farm. Just standing under the this fruiting tree is worth the trip already. I notice that it is getting ripe. Please see if the seeds will germinate. Save lots for me. I don't mind cuttings, too. telyds

Wow, on the same favorite tree just outside the bedroom where we stayed! Those are excellent shots, NiKo. You keep on adding to your collection. I hope that Ramon's short stay will yield a lot of harvest. Looking forward. Regards to Renee and Paige.

The raptor is perched on the Blue Javanica which is so close to the house. It is also where the Silvery Blue Kingfisher makes its appearance with the friendly GS Flycatcher. It would be good to fly in early, spend at least 2 nights, fly out on the last flight. Three nights would be better. The place is beautiful, the accomodations, the best! Food is good, too! Go guys!

I knew there will be a series of great photos again. Now, all are superb (as always, I have become an avid fan) but I'm singling out the GPS and the preening BS as my favorites. I keep on looking again and again. Thanks again Prof. Tirso for guiding us in a restricted area. Till next time. lyd

All are nice but I kinda like the Bittern. There' something about the overall color that makes it a classic shot. Thanks for sharing. telyds

What an excellent shot! You truly deserve to be in the Certified Bird Nuts Group. It is like your "baptism" photo. Yeah, NiKo, I could hear your heart beating in your text message. Ha, ha. The farm is really a wonderful place to take a vacation and do easy birding. Start having the cottages fixed. telyds

Wow Ely. You beat Neon with this bigger than life post. So it is not just simply butterflies. Did you show it to Cristy? She will be elated. Any butterflies? The Magellanus birdwing butterfly is so common in her garden. Maybe next time you will give me pasalubong. lyd It just so happen that Neon & I like close up birds and to do that we have to really be close to the bird or major cropping. I prefer to be close to the bird. Cristy has a trusted person by the name of Felix. I believe she now lives in the Panglao area and just visits Simply Butterflies from time to time. I was able to take a picture of a butterfly that is endemic to Bohol called (Cethosia luzonica boholica). I know Felix very well. He is a good, intelligent guy. When they were just starting, he was the one who accompanied me and Bob Kintanar birdwatching. He is an expert on butterflies already. The Cethosia is a beautiful butterfly- always included in the international books on butterflies. Please share! I'd love to see. lyd

Nice pics Telyds especially the Barbet. You have inspired me to come home more often to my home province, sweet Bukidnon home. I hope I could touch base with Neil Konrad soon. This is in Manolo Fortich, Prof. Tirso, the John Perrine Farm. Neil Konrad (they call him NIKO there) is the farm manager. From where are you in Bukidnon? Baungon is a great place to bird and butterfly watch. I have been there 4 times. So we have somethings in common. I come from Laguna and I love Bukidnon. It is the other way around for you. lyd

I remember Chris and Jason telling me that they used to eat the bird eggs raw when they find them in the fields. They would even climb a tree if they see a nest. Awareness is the first step in conservation! Good, good!

Thanks everyone. des. We saw a pair of Black winged kites but it was too far for my butterfly lens. Neil Konrad was able to photograph the Kite and also some beautiful minivets. Yes, there should be more. @ramon. John Perrine's farm is beautiful to relax and do easy birding. My knees cannot tackle anymore the places suggested by Neil. I went with them halfway only to the nearest birding site where the Rufous Hornbill frequents. I opted to just butterfly watch and I am happy with the birds in the farm. The landscape and the facilities are superb. BK Valley is another category. You have 2 mountains embracing you. . @fred. The Fig tree is a low tree teeming with berries. The bazooka lenses will not work... you have to move back.
