As evident in my previous post, all of our feathered friends in Olango maintained an average distance of 2 light years from yours truly during my 3-day stay. But one of them must have felt my frustration and so allowed me to approach him for some closer photo opportunities. Here's a Whiskered Tern ( Chlidonias hybridus) full speed in sweet Olango sunset as it transfers from one feeding ground to another. This fella didn't seem to bother me approaching while it was hunting food for dinner. Thanks for looking. 40D, 400/5.6 L, ISO 400, f/7.1, 1/2000 sec, manual exposure, handheld

Thank you Lawrence, plain idol Tina, and Ely. I'm glad you like it. Here's another one with a "not-so-standard" wing position. 40D, 400/5.6 L, ISO 400, f/7.1, 1/2000 sec, manual exposure, handheld I regret that the bird was flying away from me in this frame, but I really like the background so I'll take this as a keeper. 40D, 400/5.6 L, ISO 400, f/5.6, 1/2000 sec, manual exposure, handheld
