Finally a new lifer after such a long, long wait It was great to be among friends when I took these photos. I really enjoy being with fellow birders in the field specially when they are good friends. I really enjoyed our sortie today, Tonji, Sylvia and Mike A. Oh so looking forward to the next one na. Philippine Eagle Owl (dad or mom owl) Philippine Eagle Owl (baby owl) It still has a lot of down feathers sticking out here and there.

Thanks Clemn. Wish you and Mares were there with us. We were truly lucky that both owls were perching on a tree and that we had nice light... well much better than we expected at least.
Let's do Candaba when you guys get here.

Congratulations Tina! My take on the first photo Dad owl. Based on the description of Pavel H. "Male with more intensive color and markings and somehow more prominent ear tufts"
You didn't see the Mommy owl?

Thanks a lot Jun, Mick, Ate Lyds, Ramon and Fred :-)
Jun : Unfortunately, we only saw 2 owls... but totally not complaining ha. Oh so very, very happy to have been blessed to see 2 owls.
Ate Lyds : You are right, Wency is always happy whenever he sees that I am happy (he keeps on telling me that kaya I know - HehEhehe). I'm so lucky to be married to such a wonderful and loving husband.
Ramon : Took these photos at Angono, Rizal :-)
Fred : It was really great to finally meet you. It's so funny kasi when I saw you I had a strong inkling that it was you and was telling Sylvia na I think you're Fred Serrano but Sylvia said she hasn't met you pa kasi through email palang kayo eh mahiyain kami pareho so good nalang Tonji talked to you otherwise we would still be wondering who you are and that would be a sad thing :-)

tina, i am just as glad to have met your bunch in makiling. i should have been more persuasive in pulling my spotters (wife plus daughter) with me that day so they also would have had the pleasure of your company. birders are always responsible, friendly and patient - always family. again, my warmest on your latest lifer.

Thanks a lot everyone !!!
Naku Neon, grabe that baby owl. Most of my photos of it has the body in a blur or out of focus coz the body of the baby owl was jutting out and then the head behind it if you are shooting from where we were. Shooting details to follow kasi I made a big mistake of saving them using the save for web option and just learned that when you choose that option the exif disappears - hahahahahha istoopid moi !
