It is a Crested Myna. Please tell that person to let this bird go free in the wild where it really belongs. It is against the law to keep a wild bird in a cage. Thank you sir for identifying bird! Yes, I already contact the local government for that concern sir. They will update me as soon as they have papers to be shown to the person that it is illegal to keep a wild bird. Thank you!

Hi everyone! Good Day! I found this today at Tayasan Negros Oriental. The man who take care of it said he found this bird 3 months passed just hatched on top of coconut tree. Hopefully you can identify this bird. Thank you! 70MM 320sec F8 ISO:640 135MM 250sec F8 ISO:640

I thought that these kind of birds not existed in our land but i was wrong. I was photographing the Pied Fantail and Spotted Doves in the area. Suddenly "3 Barred Rails" appeared after the rain stop near at the irrigation system, so I snapped only 1 because the others just ran away when they saw me. huhuhu.. anyway it's a lifer for me to saw this kind of birds. Happy viewing guys! Photo taken August 26, 2012 at 1:07 PM - Valencia Negros Oriental. I broadly agree with Ely, though since females lack the white wing patch, I suggest that the immatures are immature males rather than immature females. Thanks for the information sir! Have a great day!

The things bothered me is why the female chasing the male? it's a form of mating or just playing around sir Ely???

Thanks sir Ely for the information. At last I can now rest and stop searching on the net. Your right, I had a great time of these birds last weekend.
