Great catch, Nilo! All I got of this bird were long range shots! Thanks Neon. I hope the next encounter with this bird would be favorable for us

A rare bird. Just like Ramon, I want it too. Well done Nilo & Mabuhay. They said the more sortie, the luckier you'll get Ely... that means lots of long drive though..

Wow! Love to see this bird if I get a chance to visit Dumaguete. I'm sure you'll get to see this bird there, Neon. I'm sure fellow bird photogs of Dumaguete can help you with a good specimen

Beautiful owl. Was this with flash or flashlight? Congratulations Nilo for being able to photograph this seldom seen bird. Thanks Ely. I used continuous lighting here.

These are wonderful captures of the ducks, Neil. The scene looked so serene and the ducks looked tamed (obviously are aware of your presence). Thanks for sharing.

Nice collection of bird portraits you have here, Ely. The Hooded Pitta shots are my favorite

This bird is considered "rare" by many birders primarily due to its shrinking habitats and/or simply the difficulty of seeing a live specimen in the field. I have seen this bird many times in the past sorties. However, I never had a chance to take a photo showing key identification feature like the wattled yellow-green eye ring.
This is a severely back-lit subject. The photo was also heavily cropped but still managed to retain some details/bird features which marked an important milestone in my personal imaging goals.
Thank you for viewing.

I got these photos from a birding sortie in Negros early this year. As with most "owling" adventure, these photos were taken very late at night or exactly 10:29PM, February 2013.
The Scops Owls were obviously in its most active state. A night encounter with a nocturnal bird is one of the most rewarding experience for a birder in my opinion.
Thanks for viewing.

I got this photo from a montane forest sortie this year beyond the usual eagle lookout or more than 3 hours birding hike from the lodge. I burned the whites but managed to capture some details of this canopy dweller. Thanks for viewing.

Relaxed but guarded pose Doc... Excellent details where it matters. Reminds me of the story behind the photo with our good friend. Your B&W rendering gave it another dimension btw.
