January 24, 2010, an awesome birding sortie with Ixi, Ding and JP. This bird was about to fly as our boat nears its perching tree. Another unpublished and salvaged file from a formatted HDD. Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) 5DM2 + 600 f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC, f4(8), 1/250sec., ISO 640, Monopod support on a moving boat.

I remember that time that Ding was inviting members of PBPF for a rare chance of photographing the birds right on top of La Mesa Dam. No fishing is allowed inside the dam and the birds like Osprey, Sea Eagles, and other raptors would feast on the abundant fish that is on the reservoir. Since no unauthorized persons are allowed inside the dam the birds are well protected. Ding seldom takes pictures of birds now since he went into wood carving and he is very good at it, having won a major prize in a contest on the tool box that he created. Back to the Osprey, what a wonderful capture. Well done Neon & Mabuhay.
