Aha! That confirms it. I just saw, this morning, a flock perch on a tree just beyond my backyard and I could swear they were the starlings. But I was too slow to get my gear.
Congrats on the uncommon find!

Pterodactyls!
I get the same feeling I look at those beautifully ugly bulldogs. Excellent shots, SYlvia, despite the suppressed giggling.
Where are they?

Hope you had a great day. Time to confess now. The photo was actually plagiarized (with permission) from the Master.
Have a most peaceful weekend, dear friends.

Excellent shot, Willliam. Quick trigger finger.

Looks like Mommy Duck's away so she let Neighbor Goose babysit for a bit.
With its size, I hope it doesn't become lechon target when it migrates back.

I like the batch file renaming feature of Adobe Bridge. I always rename my files in the format YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS_NN where NN is a sequential number which I use to prevent two files having the same name (in case I managed to shoot more than 1 keeper in 1 second).
Now, I want to do the same with all my photos (birds or otherwise) and would like to do it on the Mac since it's the one I have with me most of the time.
Does anyone know of a renaming program that can do this? i.e., extract shooting date and time info from EXIF and use it as par of the filename?
And please don't ask me to buy Photoshop for the Mac, too...not a rich man.

Mystery solved. After googling various photos of snakes, found that this the common treesnake that falls in the family Colubridae, genus Dendrelaphis. It's also called Bronzeback. Many kinds: Striped Bronzeback, Gray Bronzeback, etc. But the most interesting bit of info is that it is non-venomous. Whew!

Well, that's one way of looking at it. Our neighbors are telling us we should buy lotto tickets because snakes in the house bring good fortune. Whichever way you put it, it's still a scary experience. Late afternoon today, my wife calls me saying there's a snake in the laundry room. Quickly dressed up in thick pants and boots then proceeded to attempt to catch it. The village guards arrived at the scene about the same time as I did and, true enough, we saw this creature in a corner poised to defend itself. We finally caught it (well...the guard did). I asked the guard to set it free in the woods far from our house. Anybody know what kind of snake it is?

So, Ixi, did you also get a few dumbells to work up the muscles for this beast?

Alain, I hope you didn't take offense. I actually admire people with the initiative to serve our country. But I guess I just had to be a "bad guy" once in a while to issue reminders about our rules.
Again, the best of luck to you!
