I spotted these little birdies at the hottest spot in the golf course. I thought they were some sort of pigeon I have not seen before. Turns out they were uncommon migrants! Couldnt get any closer unless I wanted a awkward angle. The Chestnut-cheeked Starling (Sturnus philippensis) is a species of starling in the Sturnidae family. It is found in Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, and Taiwan. Its natural habitat is temperate forests. Aha! That confirms it. I just saw, this morning, a flock perch on a tree just beyond my backyard and I could swear they were the starlings. But I was too slow to get my gear.
Congrats on the uncommon find!

Ding thanks! These critters are more skittish than the usual fowl that I encounter.
