I took a leave yesterday and I was just enjoying the backyard birds in our place when I noticed a different specie flying to and fro our santol and duhat trees. I rushed inside our house to get my binoculars and figured that it's a new specie of bird. A lifer! So I rushed back my room and got my camera. I saw at least three of them but my Mom saw at least five. I don't know what it is. I got my Tim Fisher guide, for it's all I have, to determine the specie. With the descriptions, I surmise that it could be immature Asian Glossy Starling. But I need your expertise. ;D Shot it in Manual Exposure at F/6.3, 1/80 sec., ISO-400 using my Nikon D5000 and Sigma 150-500mm.

very nice set, kuya ely! i also like how you frame the shots kasi i can somehow see and appreciate the environment where you saw and shot the birds.

it was a delight to see a skink in my mom's garden. i was so excited that i shouted, "ma, may bubuli! dali!" it stayed for a good two minutes in front of us, not rattled by my shouting. i knew it show up again so i had my gear readied. f/6.3, 1/60 sec., iso-400

thanks, kuya ely! yeah, i think i do have a good copy. i'm quite satisfied with it. even my crappy images with this glass could surpass that of my af nikkor 70-300mm.

This is my debut to the big glasses. I shot this using a Sigma 150-500mm with my D5000. I did a field test in UP Diliman during the Holy Week. 500mm, f/7.1, 1/320 sec., ISO-800

thanks, ate lydia, for appreciating! i think i got the idea from another photography forum. i was researching about macro photography when i stumbled upon this idea. just a warning if you would try. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
