Hi Rene to answer your questions: 1. China aint producing any nikon bodies as far as i know. Thailand does and the D80s come from that country. As far as fakes are concerned, there are no fake nikon bodies that i know of. 2. the difference mainly is that the Hk unit is a grey unit meaning it didnt pay taxes and duties. CDSC is the authorized distributor of nikon products here in the country. my nikon d80 was bought in quiapo and is a grey unit. 3. if you have the extra money go with the D80 as the X wont meter with older lenses and only woks with AF-S lenses. 4. my personal take on this is to but a grey unit from a reputable shop or reseller like jerry tieng. its easier to claim warranty if its in the country rather than shipping the camera out if somethign goes wrong. 5. D80 - or the D300

Arrived at Balanga around 8:30 am yesterday. Met up with Billy, one of the mayor's aid and he brought me to the first site - Puerto Rivas Ibaba - the place has good potential for birdwatching but not for photography. Saw the following species:
- collared kingfisher - black crowned night heron - egrets (not sure of the exact type) - whiskered terns
what's nice about the place is that there's a lot of mangrove plantation surrounding the area but the only setback is when low tide comes, the birds are too far away. construction of a walkway ala triboa in Subic would be nice
Second area was Puerto Rivas itaas which is located behind the town cemetery. among the three sites we went to, this has the most potential for bird photography. according to billy, the area gets thousands of birds when they drain the fishponds around December. Some birds can be seen from the roadside and some around 400m away. Species seen at the location were:
- whiskered tern - egrets - little ringed plover - wood sandpiper - chestnut munia - long tailed shrike
the last stop of my survey yesterday was Tortugas, a small coastal barangay according to my cousins mexican girlfriend, tortugas means "turtle" and i'm assuming there were a lot of them back then. this place has good potential also for photography as the birds were on the coastline. although a few, the distance from the birds was very decent. Species seen were
- brown shrike - egret - little ringed plover - little heron - yellow bittern - long tailed shrike
I personally think that we just missed out on the birds concentrating on the are behind the cemetery. the fish pens were carpeted with sandpipers and plovers according to the mayors' aide. yesterday there were around 500 of sandpipers and plovers mixed together. Novemeber should be marked down in the calendars by the town officials as the best time for birdwatching and photography. It would also help to build elevated walkways to get near the birds.

30. patience is a virtue - all 4 mysteries of the rosary is not enough when waiting it out in the floating blind for birds to come
