Thanks, guys.... I've a long shot theory.... perhaps this duck got too close to JP when the fellow was floating in his blind. It's remotely possible that JP couldn't resist grabbing the duck, but the bird managed to get away. ;D hahaha what a theory! ;D could this be an escapee? from a private collector or zoo where some people cut the primary feathers to prevent birds from flying away

went back to Candaba today with Nestor and Martin. the day didn't start out too well as we suffered a flat tire with less than 500 meters to go till the big pon. here's what i managed to shoot today

Met up with speedmonkey (martin) at Subic to have our first birding for 2008. he showed me a site where he saw pompadour greens the day before and the sight we saw was truly amazing. we saw around 30 of these on a small fruiting balete tree. when the birds were disturbed by our presence, they transferred to a lower tree around 8 feet from the road.
