Candaba is uneventful this afternoon, what with partially overcast skies killing the chances of good BIFs. My only consolation is a Circus spilonotus trying to scare the living daylights out of the Garganeys.... ;D 1DM2 + 500 f4 L IS + Canon 1.4x TC, 700 mm, f/7.1, 1/1600, ISO 320, manual exposure, IS off, 475B/3421 support:Looks like a sub-adult male to me. I also got a shot of the top of the wing, and I'll post it tomorrow so our ID expert can confirm the age/sex. Romy

Romy, Yes, I agree on your assessment of the age of this bird. A male, and close to adulthood. It will further lose the blackish transverse barring of the inferior aspect of the primaries and secondaries with age.
