thank you very much romy! bob also commented on facebook that the picture was on the warm side. here it is with a colder WB. from the exif data, i see my speed is rather low for walking birds. i will keep that in mind. thanks again. DSC_8091 by gabsbuluran, on Flickr

i guess an area with a large enough body of water is fair game for ducks! congrats on these captures ely!
so do these rarities affect the game of birdnuts like you ely? am sure every time you go out to hit a few balls, you are always on the look out for these birds, he, he, he...

i got this cooperative but extremely active fellow in full frame. i seem to be getting enough details on the body but am not too happy with the sharpness and details of the face (where it matters). spot metering and non continuous servo. any suggestions? i saw the first one walking on some branches. it looks very much like a coucal but it was quite far and it's brown. the second, was an accident. we were taking pictures of the purple swamphen (the population of which seem to have exploded in candaba) and this fellow got included in the frame. please confirm ID. thanks! thriving bird community in corregidor. you did well documenting them ely. did you go early... as in first trip in the morning? and is this just while touring with the other visitors of the island or did you walk along on your own?
good job sir!
