Hi Neon, Here's the Purple-backed Starling (Sturnia sturnina) the second record in the country the species first observed and recorded in Tubataha Reef by Jensen et al. (can't attached again using our regular attachment process sorry) Fixed!! ;D

Hi Guys! Here's a photo of the Philippine Hawk-Owl subspecies Ninox philippensis spilonota in Cebu. The spilonota race is shared with Camiguin Sur, Cebu, Sibuyan and Tablas. The spilonota race in Cebu is a possible new species of hawk owl and we are studying this species and compare it to other spilonota race. Hope to visit Tablas soon... Hey if you guys want visit Cebu for a Cebu Bird expedition you are all welcome! Our small Alcoy Research Station in Nug-as, Alcoy is almost finish manage by our community partner with a very minimal cost and a good community-based bird guides.

Your been birding a lot in areas difficult to visit wooooooo that's great!
These are the species to watch in Liguasan Marsh Spot-billed Pelican, Woolly-necked Stork as Ivan mention, the Ibis, Jacana and Pygmy Goose.
Elvin you been working hard for waterbirds are you with any institution working for research or conservation?

If your guys plan to visit in Cebu just inform us ahead (PBP Cebu, CBCF or COS). We can go birding in Nug-as hopefully the weather is with us. We got a small research station in Nug-as ready by July.

Congratulations!!! Probably Lala wetland in Lanao the second site where the C Egret recorded Mindanao. How big is the wetland? We are looking on some wetlands which are important waterbird and good site for bird ringing.
