Thank you, Ka Mastah and Toto. Never thought this would merit Ka Mastah's recognition.

Thanks a lot, Toto, Ely, Ka Mastah, and JV! As for the third image, I was experimenting with larger upload dimensions, but it seems my image hosting didn't produce a 1200x800 (size of the first two images) version of the original.

Nice shots, Pao. You seem to have gotten the hang of shooting raptors in flight.

Thanks, guys. It was quite a sight to see.. had Mark aimed 10feet higher he would have caught two grassbirds in one frame. Hehehe, I was actually expecting someone else was already doing that.

Here's my rendition of Anvaya's "ugly" shrike... it looks like it's been deprived of the resort's privileges. ;D Long-tailed Shrike ( Lanius schach) Anvaya Cove, Morong, Bataan, 1 Aug 2010 EOS 40D, EF 400mm f/5.6L, ISO 400, f/5.6, 1/500 sec, manual exposure in available light, handheld, cloned out some distracting elements

Nice low-angle shot of this munia, Toto. So this is what you were shooting when I saw you get low and while I was talking to Martin. In my observation, AWB usually produces images with a cooler tone -- the same observation I have for both Canon and Nikon. It'd be better if you apply a custom WB and sample the areas whose colors you know. I have a few questions ... I used ACR 6.1 to convert my RAW on this one. I am set on auto WB for this shot and only tweaked sharpness and NR but as it turned out, the beak is bluish. Using DPP 3.8, the color renditions are basically the same with the ACR6.1 to be paler. THe KG says only dark grey for the beak. Any explanation why am getting it bluish? The suspicion on the bluish tone was present when I processed the Dollarbird pic I posted earlier which in the KG is describe to be black.
