Here's my rendition of Anvaya's "ugly" shrike... it looks like it's been deprived of the resort's privileges. ;D Long-tailed Shrike ( Lanius schach) Anvaya Cove, Morong, Bataan, 1 Aug 2010 EOS 40D, EF 400mm f/5.6L, ISO 400, f/5.6, 1/500 sec, manual exposure in available light, handheld, cloned out some distracting elements

Nice capture, Mark. These shrikes are not in their best feathers now. I got a similar shot in UPD.

Beautiful capture Mark! The perch is very desirable.

It was quite a sight to see.. had Mark aimed 10feet higher he would have caught two grassbirds in one frame.

Thanks, guys. It was quite a sight to see.. had Mark aimed 10feet higher he would have caught two grassbirds in one frame. Hehehe, I was actually expecting someone else was already doing that.

Why call it such? It's not ugly at all. It is beautiful. I have not seen a young LTS captured so well that shows different colors (for a change). Hey, I really like your captures, Mark. Post more! telyds
