My gosh what beautiful birds! What amazing shots!!! Are you sure you did not bring the birds to a studio??? hahaha, just kidding. These birds are in the university campus? And it is only half an hour away from where you live? my gosh, that's PARADISE!!!!! Please regale us with more of your great shots! Thanks a lot, Ixi! Yes, I took these pictures inside Universidad Para La Paz, a university owned and founded by the United Nations. The place is sorrounded by coffee farms and secondary forests and is home to many bird species. Thanks for viewing! Meanwhile, I will look forward to your posts as well coming from the Sigmonster! Regards.

Mabuhay Ariel. Beautiful captures. I am glad that you are really taking the opportunity to go birding as often as you can while you are in Costa Rica. Just imagine for a moment that you get assigned somewhere else. I as sure there will also be birds in that area but as you said yourself Costa Rica is a "Birdsmine". How convenient it is for you and best of all its almost free. Another good thing going for you is that it is so easy to move around with your lens and you can get close to the birds. You have the wealthiest opportunity to go birding in one of the best place in the world. I am happy for you and looking forward to see more birds that you will be capturing in the future. Well done Ariel. Mabuhay. Thanks a lot Ely! I've been lucky lately that my workloads are low that's why I have some time to go out during weekends. Thanks for the very kind comments.

Thanks Rey and Glenn. The toucan is one of the most beautiful birds here in Costa Rica and together with the quetzal, these birds are the "main attractions". There are several species of toucans here and the most beautiful is the Keel-billed toucan. I hope to be able to capture this bird soon during the Semana Santa. Regards.

Wow!! Amazing birds you got there, Ariel and it's just a stones throw from your place. Excellent capture of this beautiful bird. Thanks, Neon! Yes, the place is very close to my house. I can leave at 6AM, arrive there in half an hour and be back home in time for lunch! Cost-free birding! I consider myself very lucky as this country is a "birdsmine" . Regards.

Awesome captures Ariel. Is that a serrated bill? Cool ! Your photos make me want to go to Costa Rica - HEhHEhehHEe You have such a nice variety of birds over there and very colorful too Thanks, Tina. I am not so sure if the bill is serrated or not but it does appear that the bill is serrated. Meanwhile, it will be nice if you can come! Just let me know and I will just be happy to take you around to this lovely paradise.
