Good-looking quackers well captured, Conrad. Thank you. The male hooded merganser reminds me of Don King, the famous boxing promoter

Great job on focus placement, given the background! Thank you Romy. These guys grows up in the city and sometimes perched in the balconies of these condos while watching the river for their prey.

The moment I saw this guy from the distance, I knew I'm going to have a lifer today. Took the customary first shot (insurance shot 😃) in case he'll fly away. Nikon D500 w/ Nikon 200-500mm f5.6; 500mm; ƒ/5.6; 1/1600; ISO 500, Handheld, Manual Mode in Auto ISO He then went into the bushes as I am approaching. The next photos are the best view that I can get of him Nikon D500 w/ Nikon 200-500mm f5.6; 500mm; ƒ/5.6; 1/1600; ISO 1100, Handheld, Manual Mode in Auto ISO Nikon D500 w/ Nikon 200-500mm f5.6; 500mm; ƒ/5.6; 1/1600; ISO 4500, Handheld, Manual Mode in Auto ISO

Beautiful dove in flight Romy. This dove is very similar looking to what we called mourning dove here.

Nice tail motion effect and excellent detail. At 1/15s, almost no blurring on the main body.

Saw this Osprey doing a flyby along the river in one of my favorite local parks in the city. Sun is starting to set resulting in high ISO. At ISO 4000, still very happy with the resulting IQ from the D500. Thank you. A real value I agree. I made the switch only last summer after shooting with Canon for many years. The transition is a bit of a challenge at first having familiarized with 7D control buttons and layouts. I missed some shots fiddling with all the controls that I could have done closing my eyes with the 7D :-).

Great pics. I have exactly the same setup and very happy with what I'm getting with this combo. Shooting at high ISO is not a concern anymore. Manual mode with Auto ISO is my favorite shooting mode.

These are all taken last summer. I've read reports that the warblers have already started to arrive for their spring migration. It's been heavily raining here the whole week so no chance to get my first of year photos. It's been years since my last post here. I've been away from wildlife photography for a few years due to various commitments but the passion is always there. So last year I was able to get back to do some birding again and hopefully I can start posting here again regularly. Thanks for viewing. Hi, is there a specific spot in Mambukal that I have to go for birding. I really love to see some kingfishers. Anyway, any birds will be a lifer for me since it's my first visit to the Philippines since I started the hobby :-). Thanks

I'm heading for Bacolod right away but will spend 2 weeks in Manila after that. If I'll have it repair, Canon Manila for sure.
