Wonderful in-habitat captures Conrad, doesn't look easy to catch. These are tiny birds so it's always a challenge to get a good one. Lovely birds and very nice captures. Well done Conrad & Mabuhay. Thanks Ely. Beautiful captures! Where is this bird found? Hi Ramon. They usually breeds in North America but several other resident forms can be found in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. Took these pics in one of the local parks near Toronto.

Got another lifer to add to my list . These tiny yellow birds love to play inside the trees. Great patience and a timing you need to get some good looks. f6.3, 1/320, ISO640 f6.3, 1/320, ISO640 f6.3, 1/600, ISO640 f6.3, 1/125, ISO640

Very nice shots, Conrad!... Have you try enlarging the picture so you can read the ring band in one of its feet? Try finding out where it came from and where it travelled by the information on the band and the banding group/. Hi Alain. I tried zooming in the original file but the banding is still not readable enough to get some useful info. Cheers

White as snow and no glare. Well done Conrad & Mabuhay. Thanks Ely. With this type of subject and lighting condition, this is where our basic knowledge of photography kicks in, spot metering and manual exposure. Cheers

Very nice shots of that majestic bird, Conrad. I guess if it had a fish on it's bill, the photo would be even more dramatic. :-) Thanks Bobby. For almost 20 minutes that he was fishing for food, I was really hoping he can get one. I'm all set and prepared for that moment to happen but sad to say it didn't . Might go back on other days as I've heard from the residents that he always likes that same spot. Cheers

Just got lucky again the other day. Found him in a small river looking for dinner. Unfortunately, he did not catch any fish during the time I was there. This is the first time I've got this bird really up close. Really close such that I have to move back amidst bushes and trees as he is filling up the full frame of the 7D and 400mm lens:D. f7.1, 1/1000s, ISO800, Manual f7.1, 1/800s, ISO800, Manual f7.1, 1/1000s, ISO800, Manual f7.1, 1/500s, ISO800, Manual

These are the kind of setup that I see in Alan Murphy pictures. Budding flowers, fruiting trees, and birds that are nicely perched. It looks so natural. Well done Conrad & Mabuhay. We're into spring now and a month away from summer so the trees and flowers are blooming. Leaves and fruits of the these trees adds life to the photos but most of the time, it makes more difficult to get a clear shot of the birds. Cheers
