It's just about as heavy as my Nikon D500 and Nikkor 200-500 combo, maybe a tad lighter. The Sony is faster and more accurate with AF though. I have to get a battery grip for the Sony coz the camera is a bit hard to handle with its smallish grip.
Having said that, I think the a7Mk4 will be the best for wildlife coz it has a crop mode of 26 Mp while the a7iii only offers 10 Mp on Crop mode.
Another possible even better body will be the a9 or the a9Mk2, if you can get your hands on one. Sony Philippines doesn't have them yet.
Regards!

Trying out my new Sony a7iii with the Sony 200-600 G Lens at Mandaue Swamp: The Chestnut Munias were out, so I had a great time catching up with their antics while practicing with the new combo. I would have preffered the Sony a9, bu it seems even Sony Philippines is out of stock. I went to Olango to check out the place after years of absence. They have a new structure that I believe will be excellent for shorebird photography in the early morning hours. I spent only 2 hours in the area as I had to catch the 12 PM Ferry back to Cebu. Nikon D500; Nikkor 200-500 f/5.6 @ ƒ/6.3 500.0 mm 1/2500 ISO 280, Hand-held in available light. VR "ON" Mode 1. This basically an out of camera shot - only the WB was adjusted. This is a cropped photo: Red Shank by Grandpa@50, on Flickr I have other shots but not worthy of displaying here without further processing. Hehehe.

Alright! I will also be retiring and relocating to my home province by February, so I guess we still have time to do this. We can even showcase our "Last Hurrah" with the help of Liza and Godo! Hehehe.
