Long time no post here... It's so sad that the COVID thing really curbed our trips and birding sorties. Facebook didn't help either. I don't have FB and never will, I guess. Now, I'm just taking shots from my own perch (veranda) at my place in the province. Such long shots! Anyhow, I've resorted to using Topaz De-noise and Giga pixel AI to help in my post processing. Here, I'm sharing a couple of shots of the Blue-tailed Bee-eater taken from at least 35 meters away. The seeming over-sharpening is for printing purposes, as I print my captures more often now: Nikon D7200; Nikkor 200-500: f/6.3; 1/100; ISO 100 on a tripod: Acting Cute - Bee-eater by Grandpa@50, on Flickr Bee-eater Posing by Grandpa@50, on Flickr I'll try to post more here, for old time's sake, and I hope our "old" members start posting here again as well. Thanks for dropping by and let's keep the memories coming! Best regards, Bobby K.

I captured this image of what I believe to be a Tufted Duck as it was feeding on an empty section of a rice field near my small plot of land in my home province. I was quite excited and did not even extend my Sony 200-600 to its max zoom as it was quite a distance away, but after cropping the photo, I can almost be sure it is a Tufted Duck! Sony a7R4; Sony 200-600mm: ƒ/6.3 @ 485.0 mm 1/1000 ISO 500; Monopod Tufted Duck by Grandpa@50, on Flickr Can you confirm my ID? And I'd like to share this grab shot of a Pied Fantail that suddenly landed on a fence nearby: Gotcha! by Grandpa@50, on Flickr Much thanks and regards! Bobby K.

Thanks, Ka Bobby! Sad to hear about the lockdown. Here's another capture from my birding point-and-shoot: Pied Fantail (Rhipidura javanica, resident) Shooting info - Maambal Orchard, Pangasinan, Philippines, November 14, 2020, RX10 IV + Uniqball UBH45 + Manfrotto 455B tripod, 600 mm (equiv.), ISO 800, f/4, 1/125 sec, manual exposure in available light, major crop resized to 1920 x 1080. Hehehe.. If you hadn't mentioned you used a P&S for that shot, I would not have guessed it. :-)

Great BIF Ka Mastah Romy! BTW, I would like to inform everyone that our friend and PBPF member Tirso Paris passed away the other day. His remain is in Los Banos. Sad news indeed! His bird shots will always stand as testament to his photographic contributions to the world! May he rest in peace.

So very beautiful shots, Tina! I long for those days when we could go out anytime and not have to worry about face masks and Social Distancing! I am leaving the city soon, and I'm planning to spend the rest of my days in the countryside at my hometown. Perhaps there will be more opportunities to enjoy our passion there ... Stay Safe!
