There are at least two females in the area where I can reliably spot the Common Kingfishers and I found the place where the females tend to hunt! Thank you for Ka Mastah. Seems like maybe all birds have that membrane and use it when they catch prey. :-)

I've been trying to nail this bird for a long. long time now. At last God blessed me with a great spot to capture this beauty! Using the Sony A6600 and the Sony 200-600 mm Lens Combo on a tripod: ƒ/7.1 @ 600.0 mm; 1/80 Sec. ; ISO 640 Note: Silent Shooting was "ON" so as not to spook the bird. Hehehe. To God be All the Glory!! Thanks for dropping by! Bobby K.

Here's a Brown Shrike taken with the Sony a6400 and Sony 200-600 Combo. This could well be the most-cost effective combination for maximum reach, without a TC, in a fairly light kit. The Sony a6400 does not have IBIS, but the Sony 200-600 has built-in Steadyshot, so hand-holding this setup is very possible! ƒ/6.3 @ 600.0 mm; 1/500; ISO 1250 Brown Shrike by Grandpa@50, on Flickr A Golden Plover using the same setup: ƒ/7.1 @ 600.0 mm; 1/1000; ISO 250 Pacific Golden Plover by Grandpa@50, on Flickr Hope you like the pictures! Regards and to God be all the Glory!

Thank you for the ID Ka Mastah! Those shots of yours can still beat the very best that current setups can come up with. No wonder you have always been the King of Bird Photogs in our neck of the woods!! :-)

I acquired a Sony a6400 as a back-up camera. This unit has a 24 Mp Crop Sensor, hence it has enabled me to capture these photos of some new visitors at Jugan Fishponds which were a long ways off ... Sony a6400; Sony 200-600; ƒ/8.0; 600.0 mm; 1/1000; ISO 500 -- a Major Crop! Can nybody help ID these birds?
