I went to UP last Sunday for a short birding sortie. The Blue rockthrush is still there and is more approachable now. Blue Rockthrush Philippine Pygmy Woodpecker Pied triller Canon 40D, EF500 + 1.4X TC, f/6.3, 1/125, ISO320, tripod

Please pm me where I can find the BRT. I have been looking for it at the NIGS and Marine areas but can't locate it. I plan to go tomorrow. lyd

The spotted wood kingfisher earlier photographed by Doc Mando is back. Here is my version of it. [img/]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3424/3246728907_02a7bf5782.jpg

My share. Prof. is really an expert in spotting birds even in the dark. These were taken excitedly at around 5:30-6:00pm yesterday, with tripod courtesy of Prop Gerry. 40D 300mm IS USM ISO 800 Thanks Prof. Time of day

Naku, Rey, still a long way to go. I hope I can bird with you guys so I can maximize the capabilities of this camera. with a 300mm, I can only target birds this close. Look, look. I said with a tripod, hand held.... he, he. I will modify. Thanks Rey. telyd

Congratulations! This is one that calls for appreciation of the photograph without saying anything about the photograph itself. Maybe you are also interested in adding the guaiaberos of Sanggumay to your U.P. birds (tip of Cel T.). Cheers!

Following the tip of our UPD bird experts Propjerry and Doc Mando regarding a nesting Barbet and a tree full of Colasisi. I tried my luck today and was not disappointed. As soon as I arrived Docs Mando and Chito joined me. We were there quite early, around 7:30am. The Barbets showed up at around 8:30am and started transporting wood bits out of the hole like clock work. Heard a lot of guaiaberos but we were concentrating on the barbets for today. Then, we were destructed by the noise of a family of colasisi on a tree just across the road from the barbet nest. We were treated to a display of feeding behavior of the colasisi feeding it's young, I'll post that photo later. Here's what I got...

Great set Neon. I myself have yet to catch this endemic parrot. This is one is so beautiful and it's the best take for me, excellent details and composition.
