Great set guys. Very good capture of the Pygmy FLowerpecker Bong. Great exposure on a very busy FG and BG with dappled lighting. It's the best for me.

Hi good evening. When do you guys usually go to Hardin? It might be too forward to ask, but I need company, can I come with you?

Just go there in the morning, any day of the week and you'll surely catch the early bird-er ;D. No, really on a weekend morning, a weekend day at Hardin without any birders visiting it wouldn't be complete.
Just announce that you are going there and most probably the free birders on that day will give Hardin a visit, especially Doc Mando who never misses a day without breathing the Hardin air, I think he's there also during nights. ;D

Thanks. I went there yesterday afternoon but it rained. I'm on a sembreak, I'm practically free this whole week, might go there later, hehe.

It's a pretty safe place, Donapie. You'd notice there are always the UP Patrol on site. Bring your ready-for-mud footwear. The real fun is in walking on the "pilapil" to get closer to birds.
If DocMando is around, I'm sure he could point you to where you can walk through. I work about 5mins away. If you're there early tomorrow, I can join you before I get off to work around 8am.

I'm from UP so I'm not really concerned about safety hehe, but the reach of my only zoom lens is kinda crappy I want to get as close to the birds as possible and I don't know where to go or where to pass really. I'm kinda shy to ask the manongs who were planting there to assist me but I would one of these days if I'm that desperate. I went there this early morning around 6:30am, didn't see anybody birding or maybe I just went to the wrong place. I saw cattle egrets and some waterhens, but didn't get close to them huhu. I just stood by the road and looked. Thanks for the offer, that's too nice of you. Maybe I'd PM you my number. ;D

Yes Dona, it's a little difficult to get close shots at the hardin unless 1) you get lucky and the bird lands in front of you; or 2) you happily walk the pilapil (or sometimes the mud) to get close to our feathered friends. And yes, if Doc Mando is around, he'd be very happy to orient you about the spots. Happy birding.

Thanks Mark! I have no qualms to go through mud, I just need the proper shoes. I have to make do with my current equipment though hehe. jmbangate here gave me some hope, we have the same lens (EF-S55-250mm f/4.5-5.6 IS) and his picture's nice.
