Chinese Goshawk or sometimes called Chinese Sparrowhaw is correct. Note the black wing tips, dead giveaway, as are bright orange cere and feet. Thanks for confirming!

Thank you guys! I'm glad to be in the company of birdnuts! Your beautiful photos inspire me to try harder. @telyds: Yes' they're ripe but the other tree in the front lawn has also started bearing fruit! Also, we've found cuttings to be the easiest method of propagating this tree. Will find a way to send you some.

That is interesting to know that this bird is endemic to Mindanao. Well done Neil & Mabuhay. Thank you sir. For a while I thought they were Asian Glossy Starlings until Mr. Des Allen pointed out otherwise. I'm also learning how to use the KG now. ;D It does pay to read! ;D ;D ;D

Wow, on the same favorite tree just outside the bedroom where we stayed! Those are excellent shots, NiKo. You keep on adding to your collection. I hope that Ramon's short stay will yield a lot of harvest. Looking forward. Regards to Renee and Paige. Sir Ramon had to postpone his trip this time.

Details are still intact with you handheld technique Sir. Congrats! I call it the "hold your breath 'til you turn blue" technique ;D I find myself shooting handheld almost all the time because lugging a tripod around when I walk the farm is not fun (I've tried ;D). I do try to shoot with a tripod if possible.

Simply beautiful Neil! Would there still be blue-throated bee-eaters in April or May at your birding place? Am planning to visit my folks in Valencia soon. They'll still be here by then. Give me a call when you're in Bukidnon.

The raptor is perched on the Blue Javanica which is so close to the house. It is also where the Silvery Blue Kingfisher makes its appearance with the friendly GS Flycatcher. It would be good to fly in early, spend at least 2 nights, fly out on the last flight. Three nights would be better. The place is beautiful, the accomodations, the best! Food is good, too! Go guys! Thanks for helping promote the place! Hope to see back here soon!
