Thank's sir Mike and Tateo. I agree; the rain adds drama, making even "ordinary" birds look interesting. Besides, I wanted to see what birds do when it's raining.

Thank you! I'm glad to see more of these raptors here. I'm waiting for the pineapple fields to be plowed; it's during this time that you see dozens of raptors following the tractors, often flying really low and diving to the ground. Really an awesome sight!

Awesome captures. Looks like you had a wonderful birding day in spite of the rains. Odd looking munias. My first time to see them with feathers like those. I wonder if they were caught and colored then escaped so now the rain is washing away some of the colors. Thank you! I was hoping to catch the Black-shouldered Kite and the Pied Harrier who frequent the area. I think the munia is molting, like what Sir Ely is saying...

Sharing some more birds of Bukidnon: These appear to be the nesting pair I observed before. Not sure where they transferred their nest(they abandoned first site because of crows that kept harassing them). May 11, 2012 Manual exposure: 1/500s @ f/8.0 Focal Length 500 mm ISO Speed 800 Soaring above their perch were these: Could these be their fledglings? Manual exposure: 1/250 @ f/8.0 Focal Length 500 mm ISO Speed 800

These are the first photos that I have seen of a Barred Rail of this age. It is interesting to see how the facial pattern develops. I hope to be able to photograph the transition. I'm thinking about putting up an observation hide in the area.
