Beautiful and interesting pictures here Ely! I'm happy for you that you were able to photographed that Crested Caracara. I've been chasing that one for so long and I haven't been lucky so far.

At this distance plus a combo with 2X certainly brought details. Very nice handling at low speed.

Nice series Ely. I haven't been back to this place since then. I hope to go back to this place when the weather becomes cooperative. Regards. Thank you again Ariel. What is the use of going now if it is raining. What month does the rain stop? Hi Ely. Normally, things get better by November. I hope to go out more often when that time comes. Saludos y Pura Vida!

Had a chance to go out two weeks ago and was able to capture these three juvenile species. Collared Sparrow 7D+400mm f/5.6, ISO 800, 1/320s Acorn Woodpecker f/8.0, ISO 640 And finally, this female quetzal was rescued by the staff of Paraiso del Qutzal lodge. They set it free but continues to roam around in their hummingbird garden, making her an instant tourist attraction. Because the bird was so close, I took this picture using my 100mm macro lens f/4.0, ISO 1/250s

Very nice captures of this not-so-easy to find specie. This is more difficult to find than the quetzals. The pictures remind me that I need to go back there again and ask Alex to help me locate and take photos of this beauty. Thanks for sharing.

Impressive details on all photos, Ely. The one that shows the color of the throat stands out as it is not easy to capture.
I went to San Gerardo last week and spent some time at Restaurante Miriam. They told me that you sent them pictures of the birds you took from their place and they are very thankful. While I was having my breakfast, a Tico guide told me that there is a young quetzal that was rescued and is being taken care by the staff of Paraiso del Quetzal lodge. I passed-by their place and was able to see a beautiful juvenile female quetzal that is not afraid of humans. I also met Carlos there by chance.
I will be posting it soon.
Regards.
