**EDITED THIS TO CORRECT THE ID!** Sharing this action sequence that we got to witness. Plus a bonus lesson. We withessed an exciting action sequence between two Peregrine Falcons where one bird passed the prey that it held in its claws to a second bird by releasing it in mid-flight. The second bird caught the prey. According to Christian Artuso who was with us and is more familiar with Oriental Hobbies , the two birds were likely to be a pair. He said it is common behavior to see one bird passing food to the second bird and for the second bird to fly upside down so it can receive the food in its claws. The bonus lesson: Bring your gear! I didn't bring my big lens that morning and regretted it! Peregrine Falcon Falco peregrinus ernesti 18 April 2015, Twin Lakes, Dumaguete, Negros Oriental iso 2000, f 7.1, 1/2000 Bottom bird is ready to receive the prey. iso 1600, f 8, 1/1600 But the top bird didn't give it, bottom bird flipped over to do a mid-air catch instead. iso 1600, f8, 1/1600 Gotcha! Nice one! I thought it was a snake! I'm so impressed at how you are able to make the feather details come out in a white bird in flight.

Thanks Tina, Tateo and Romy!
Tina, I thought it was just one of the Scaly-breasted Munias until I put my bins on it. Then it was "Guys, White-bellied! Shoot! Shoot!"

I was in IRRI with Tonji, Tina M, and Ixi. I was surprised when I checked out the munias with my binoculars to see a single White-bellied Munia mixed in with the Scaly-breasted Munias! Sometimes it pays off when you try to identify every single bird you see! I was watching this Common Emerald Dove that was foraging on the ground when a second bird flew in. Then the first bird hunched up its shoulders, and started following the 2nd bird for several seconds. Then they both flew away. I've never seen such behavior in Common Emerald Doves before. Although it reminded me of something I saw Great Crested Terns doing before. Does anyone know what the behavior signifies? I did some research, and it says that Common Emerald Doves have a very specific mating dance. I'm not sure if this was it. Very nice set! I especially like the Little Egret with plumes and the Whiskered Tern with great details. I can see through the nostril! And I can see the toes of it's other foot peeking out from under the body!

Hi Bob! It doesn't look like early morning in the picture! But I like how the shot came out. Great colors and the fruit in the beak puts the shot over the top!

COPPER-THROATED SUNBIRDNectarinia calcostethaThis was February 2014 in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. I was really happy to find a cooperative male Copper-throated Sunbird! On previous visits to Palawan, we either did not see it or had really bad views. This time, we had good views. Light was a bit harsh, but it played up the metallic colors of the bird. Otherwise it looks black! f 7.1, iso 500, 1/125 f 7.1, iso 500, 1/500 Canon 5DMark3 + 500mm f4 + 1.4 t.c

I wanted to share this unusual view of a swift. It's face looks gopher-like in this shot! This was in Laoag in January 2014. I first posted this as Asian Palm Swift, but I made a mistake. It's a Uniform Swiftlet. The Asian Palm Swift has a deeply forked tail. Uniform SwiftletAerodramus vanikorensisf7.1, iso 500, 1/2000 5DMarkIII, 500 mm , 1.4 t.c., tripod
