COPPER-THROATED SUNBIRDNectarinia calcostethaThis was February 2014 in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. I was really happy to find a cooperative male Copper-throated Sunbird! On previous visits to Palawan, we either did not see it or had really bad views. This time, we had good views. Light was a bit harsh, but it played up the metallic colors of the bird. Otherwise it looks black! f 7.1, iso 500, 1/125 f 7.1, iso 500, 1/500 Canon 5DMark3 + 500mm f4 + 1.4 t.c

You nailed it, Sylvia! It's really hard to get the "copper" throat of this sunbird.
