Thanks, Tonji. I myself was very surprised to see that all birds came out ok. The shot is full frame and no PP. I wish I have the brains, time and patience to do PP. I guess I am more gifted with my visual sense than common sense...aaah, my eyes are failing, too, but can still see beauty most of the time. Bless the Lord, oh my sight. tely:D

The Cethosia is one of the most beautiful butterflies in the world. There are 3 from Mindanao. The Cethosia mindanensis (endemic) Cethosia magindanica, and the Cethosia festiva There are variations from other parts of the country and in Asia. You photographed it in the forest...that makes me very happy! It was fun and challenging, di ba? This butterfly is actually in my wall paper (the one from Mt. Kanlaon) but I think it is time to change it to the last one facing the photographer (uncropped, pleaaaase???). telyds PS. I would like to post your pic. in paroparozzi yahoo groups so that we can have it properly identified. Love it, from Mindanao... great, Ding.

Wow AA, Now it gives me that shepherd feeling, hearing the good news -- them learning He was born. This one announces the same good news- the Saviour, the mission of the Savior. It is finished. It is a joy to celebrate his death and Ressurrection. His act of Love. Jesus lives! Happy Ressurrection Day!
Side story: Easter is named after the Goddess of Fertility. That is why it is celebrated with the prolific Easter bunnies and eggs. Easter had nothing to do with the Ressurrection. The empty cross is the icon of the Ressurection. Just sharing. Ly:D

A-oookey! I know there is a way for man to beat the machine. It is still my slave. Ha, ha. Thanks Eric. Kaya nga hangga ngayon I have not mastered my gears. I do it trial and error or hang around with techies. I thought I was smart to go to the sub-forums... but there are other keys to punch pala... which makes sense... piece of cake ;D salamat, salamat, tely:d Hello Ate Lyds, Try to limit your search to the appropriate subforums to ensure a good search. Then increase your number of days to search from 7 to a larger number. Also increase the maximum results showed from 10 to a larger number. To give you an example: Try searching for hoopoe, then click Check All in the Boards to Search section to clear the selections. Check only the Wild Birds of the Philippines checkbox to limit your search to that subforum. Increase the Posted within the last section from 7 days to say 365 days. Increase also the Maximum results section from 10 to say 100. Then click Search. Hope this helps.

Nice one Ely. He, he. I'm not into grasshoppers but I am for protecting their habitat- the forest ground cover. Insects depend largely on grass and plants that grow under the trees. Slash and burn (kaingin), indiscriminate clearing, encroachment (agriculture and housing), planting exotic trees that do not allow undergrowth plus the use of pesticide deprive these insects of life. The food chain is also affected. Ly:D

These are beautiful captures of the Idea leucone[/img] butterfly (Nymphalid Family) and the Lime Butterfly, Papilio Demoleous - both busy drawing out nectar from flowers using their proboscis. Were they taken inside a butterfly house? Thank you Ely. ly:D
