Thanks Bob and Ely. Haay naku Ely, if I had your camera there would be no room to move back. You can do macro-birding in my garden. By the way, I took this handheld (yabang!). Ely a 400L will really be a temptation. tely:Ds

I am very much encouraged. The sunbirds are everyday in my garden, sometimes just a meter away from where I am sitted in my little office. Would you believe that sometimes I am shooting and talking to a passenger on the phone?
Remember, Tina, our first sunbird contest? You set the rules. I always refer back to that as my standard for this bird. It is only now that I am satisfied. No PP, cropping only.
Thanks my idol, TINA, Neon, Rey. Perla, Mela,Nestor, Edu, Doc William, Leny, Mark and Ron.
Happy, tely:Ds

I have quite a collection of shots of the lovely OBS. With my newly acquired 300 F4L lens, the BIF captures have improved and so I think. I guess it is the gear not the girl. Here's sharing my noontime shot today, no lunch yet. I'd see how it fares posting this with the awesome pygmy, the treeswift and the wonderful nesting flycatcher, ha, ha. tely:D Canon 40D AF Exposure: (1/250 Aperture: f/4.0 ISO 800

Sorry kiddo, mayas and bulbuls are there to stay . It's a choice between having trees near you or... you don't those nice trees cut down, do you? They come around even without fruiting trees. telyds

I rejoice with you, Tina. Yeah crying... because we're not there! Hu, hu, hu. Danda. danda. Studio shot! Is that why they are called treeswifts? They can swiftly catch the egg when they fall from that balancing on a twig set-up. I think I know na the secret. When you are always beaming with a smile, you attract birds also. (also, kasi Tina can attract with invisible magnets!). Any butterflies, Tisoy?

Neon, The photo comes second. Your heart best captured the priceless value of our natural heritage. We will be accountable to the Maker when the time comes. We cannot just shoot, enjoy and move on. We have a responsibility. Yeah, the little one is so pretty. telyds
PS. When are you people going back? Sama ako.

It's a good campaign. Don't just plant trees. Know what trees to plant. I've learned a lot from Neon about good soil and poor soil, what happens if you remove the trees, when you plant the wrong trees, when you remove the ground cover, when you plant the wrong ground cover... but I suppose that you can plant any tree that will feed the wildlife.
If you want the flyeaters to come, you should have flowering trees (the cassia family- golden shower, flame tree, and vines which flower the bees like. The sunbirds love blooms that are rich in nectar like passifloras, single petaled gumamelas, chinese parasol, plants with tubular flowers, calateas (those we call bird of paradise).
Fruit eating birds love wild duhats, mulberrys, bignay, balete, isis, tibig, lemoncito, aratiles, mickeymouse seeds and a lot more we have observed, some photographed but have not identified yet.
I have lots of lemoncito wildlings. I can give you Paolo and Sylvia if you do not have yet.

Hi Teddy. It is an interesting butterfly. It looks different from the ordinary ones. It's from the Papilio family I think, maybe a female. This one has reached its final stage. Where was this taken? telyd
