A flock off about 30 of them perched on a rather far Agoo tree so I had to climb to my roofdeck to get this photo. Haven't sorrted through all the shots yet so I may have a better one (or none). Sorry, blurry, though. There was some wind and the sun was at me. Cropped and post-processed to death.

Wow!! definitely Chestnut cheeked starling!!! The first one we photographed in Hardin about 2 years ago was a single individual!! The male has the chestnut cheeks and darker wings.
If this group decided to hang around please do inform us, I'll be there in a jiffy. ;D

He-he. You can just imagine my predicament this morning.
Was having breakfast, running late. 8AM conference to go to and have to drop off my son at Katipunan before that. Then, saw this large flock fly by my window into the Agoo tree beyond the East side of my fence. Once again, spilled my coffee.
Went up to the bedroom to assemble my camera and lens which were still in a messy pile from a vacation in Davao (still haven't processed photos from that one!).
Went to the roofdeck, shot some photos. But a Black-naped Oriole drove them away.
So went back to the bedroom to stow the camera, removing the CF card so I can process it later in my office. Went back down to have breakfast when, lo and behold, the CCSs were all in the tree favored by Cuckoo Doves in Feb on the West side of my fence ! Perfect location for some shots!
So, went up the bedroom, to get my gear, then all the way down to the basement to get the tripod, assembled everything, then went out the garden to get closer, when my dogs barked and the whole flock skittered away.
But! They went back to the Agoo tree on the East! So, hefted the entire gear up to the roofdeck again, and huffing and puffing, set everything up and steadied my breath to start shooting. Then I realized I left the CF card in the bedroom! Went back to the bedroom and got it, then climbed back to the roofdeck.
That's when I finally got some shots until a Long-tailed Shrike drove them away. Backlit but still recognizable.
Will keep an eye out for them tomorrow. Watch out for a call from me, Neon!

Will keep an eye out for them tomorrow. Watch out for a call from me, Neon! Hahahaha...I was like that until I bought a special bag where my gear is always at the ready. Right after a sortie download everything and format the CFs. Charge the batts and before sleeping put them back in the cam that is welded to the lens already!! ;D Unfortunately, Ding, I'll be heading for Baguio tonight to attend the WCSP (Wildlife Conservation Society of the Philippines) annual convention. I promised my sister I'll attend. Will get some tips from the guys that make a living watching wildlife and establish some contacts..hehehehe

Ei Ding, you can call me instead. No problem calling you, Rey. But if the birds reappear and stay only as long as this morning (less than 30mins), you'd have to be racing through morning rush hour traffic to get here! Will observe if they habitually appear in the morning and, if they do, a weekend breakfast would ready!

Sorry, guys. The CCSs didn't show up this morning. I have a feeling they were just passing thru yesterday. Will still keep an eye out.
