To all pre-registrants,
I've just forwarded the Pre-registration List together with the gear list (as of June 1st) to Mr. Tonni Cuesta. As instructed in the guidelines, please look for and coordinate with Mr. Wendy Garrido of Canon Service.

All the birds species captured by Tonji and Sylvia at Tubbataha are BPOTW material because of the rarity of local capture and the fine aesthetics.
I chose this one (by a hair over the rare CI Frigatebird) becaused I'm a biased BIF guy. ;D
Congrats Tonji on the fantastic BIF shot!

Admin Note: For security reasons, we are changing the mechanics so that one needs to paste only his/her name on the Pre-registration List.
The list of gear to be serviced should be PM'ed to me. I already have the gear list of the first six (6) pre-registrants, so they don't need to PM me anymore.

BTW, can't seem to see any visual difference between the images on your post, though the secure version is a few KB larger than the non-secure version. On my IPS display, they look visually identical too, Toto.

Ramon, I fixed the post so the photo will be embedded. The code used is given below.

I recommend that you upload a photo no longer than 1500 pixels wide so viewers with small displays can see it well.

Excellent detail, lovely light, sweet background and very pleasing composition on this portrait, which deserves a place on the pages of NatGeo .
Congrats Sylvia and Tonji on bringing home world-class avian images from this amazing place!

I've been too busy to go birding lately. Just to check if my gear are still working fine, I went out to my frontyard this morning to catch the usual suspects as they transfer from one feeding tree to another. ;D Yellow-vented Bulbul ( Pycnonotus goiavier) Shooting Info - Paranaque City, Philippines, May 15, 2011, 1D4 + 400 5.6L, 1/1600 sec, f/6.3, ISO 400, manual exposure in available light, hand held, composite of two frames from a burst.

Looks like a Lowland WE to me, Ramon. By the way, I suggest that you host your photos in another site and embed it in the forum, rather than upload it to PBPF. The advantages of such are better convenience for the viewers (the images appear right away when somebody opens your post), and our limited uploading resources are not strained. There are many excellent free hosting sites available. Many of use use imageshack.us/ (registration is free).

When birding, I seldom bring my 12x50 binos now. When I need to magnify a distant object, I just look through the viewfinder with the 500 f4 + 1.4x mounted. BTW Boy, please resize your avatar to a maximum of 200x200 pixels so the layout of our pages won't be affected. @ Ka Mastah Romy ... Plan to use it during MLU mode. I would like to see the bird how it pose before I release the shutter. He he he he. 200 x 200 pixel noted .... Thanks ... I see. Yup, MLU is the only method that works with the 1D4 at shutter speeds slower than 1/50 sec. This is because of the 1D4's peculiarly strong shutter slap when shooting in Live View. In all other EOS DSLRs, you can shoot at slower than 1/50 sec in LV with sharp results.
