When light gets low and moving subjects need to be frozen with fast shutter speeds, the 1D4 delivers the detail with controlled noise at high ISO! Stunning low-light action shots, Ka Mastah. Never thought these were shot at ISO 3200 until I saw the EXIF. I bet that GIF (glider in flight) was a piece of cake for you.

Thanks, Mark! It's really amazing that ACR can extract such detail from the 1d4's sensor and control noise. Even ISO 6400 is quite useable and I wish I tested a few shots at ISO 12.8K. A few years ago, I'd have stopped shooting such action when light goes as low. Incredible series Ka Mastah! They're so unbelievable clean! Do you still need the 400?

Incredible series Ka Mastah! They're so unbelievable clean! Do you still need the 400? Thanks, Bong! You mean the 400 f/2.8? I seldom use it for the moment because the 1D4/7D + 500 + 1.4x TC is doing a good job at most of the things I shoot, in a lighter package. However, when the new APS-C cameras with higher MP come around, the 400 2.8 will be more future-proof as far as diffraction is concerned.

I missed this one until Bong told me about it. The 1DM4 is really the best camera so far in taking pictures at low light. I found that out when I took pictures of birds at Villa Escudero a few weeks ago. birdphotoph.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=photo&action=display&thread=7282It must have been fun to take pictures of subjects of the same species in the wild and surf beaches of La Union. Well done Romy & Mabuhay.
