Thanks Ixi for the sumptuous lunch (that grilled pompano was to die for) and the great conversation.... it's always a pleasure to be in your company! Farewell, my dear Sigmonster.... my heart is not heavy because I know you're in good, passionate hands. Gosh William, Rey, Ely, Ka Rene, Bobby, Tina and Ralf!!!! I still can't believe it!!! Thank you for the kind congratulatory words but you better hold onto them first... I have to prove myself worthy of such a beautiful beast. I truly have to thank Romy for entrusting his baby to me and for having faith in me. Thank you also for sharing some valuable tips with me in how to "tame" it. I will have PLENTY of questions for you soon!!! I keep on looking at it to see if it indeed is still there! I'm still in a daze.... LET"S GO SHOOTING!!!!!

I told you folks you wouldn't have guessed that the new Tamer (or is it Tameress?) is Ixi. To be honest, I had some expectation before our testing that Ixi will change her mind once she saw, handled and shot the heavy beast. But when we had our long talk and testing, I saw the fire and passion in her eyes.... that made me confident that the Sigmonster has found its next Master.

I think in trying to ID the next Sigmonster tamer the group did not take into account something very important. Passion. I think in our forum Ixi must be one of the most travelled members. Her name is all over the trip reports from Luzon to Mindanao and places in between. We have been lucky enough to have been with her on a few of her trips. Off the top of my head I can recall that Sylvia and I have been with her in Kitanglad, Balanga, Banaue, Palay-Palay, Candaba and of course in her beautiful home that has a great variety of birds passing thru everyday. She is probably also one of the top birders in our forum with a lot of birds in her list. If we made passion the main criteria for our short list of possible Sigmonster buyers then Ixi would have been at the top of the list. It certainly makes sense that a passionate birder like Ixi would want to get a good record of some of the beautiful things she gets to see.

I am very happy hear that it is Ixi who has ended up with the historically significant item of everyone's "mastah" and "idol." Someone who is very much into animals, environment and beautiful trinkets plus a very good set-up is predictably going to result into very good photographs. Go go go Ixi!

Yeeeeehah! The 300mm F4L is too short, the superb spotting scope keeps the capture in the eye and heart only, the new SigMAMA can share her Makiling and adventure thrills with us. This will be exciting. We're salivating. No more "wala, panget, panget..." ahi-hi... Ka Romy, I know how happy you are because passing on the SigMOMO to SigMama is not losing but gaining. I am so happy for both of you. Ixi, our superwoman, please post your first SigMama lifer. Make history! lots of cheerps and labidabs, lyds, oh my, I am really so happy for you.

Btw. I propose that there be a SigMAMA thread. We're all Ix-cited. And MamaIx, keep your 300mm. You now have for Wild Birds, you need that for the other half, Nature Photography, like butterflies! Otherwise you are only half a WBNPPI member. He, he. And... look at Neon, he's traveling companion is the 300mm. He has kept it. :Dlyd
