Using Ramon's Canon EOS 7D with tripod set-up on the bird-watchers' view deck of Ramon's house in Bangkong Kahoy Valley, Dolores, Quezon Province, Philippines (this is for the benefit of our foreign bird-watcher-friends). Thank you.

Beautiful photo of Mt. Cristobal's tip peeking out of a fog-shrouded area. Reminds me of a photo I had seen of Mt. Fuji, Japan.

Thank you, Ely. I hope to see you again at BK Valley. I would like to pick up more tips on AdobePhotoShop. Also, I'd like to try the banana-way (as you taught us) to lure the White-breasted Waterhen near Dion's fishponds at BK Valley.

Cris, Ramon's care-taker, told Ely Teehankee that he has seen "Tiklings" along the pathway to Dion Pulan's "Doc Gerry" Coffee Shop, and I plainly heard ElyT instruct Cris to put several bananas along the pathway. In less than half an hour, the boys alerted us that a "Tikling" was eating the bananas. "Scramble" was the word to "shoot" the beautiful Plain Bush-Hen...a "lifer" for me.

Ely, when Ramon, JJ, Hill Slowinski, and I went to Mambukal Mountain Resort (Negros Occ.) on April 17, 2010, I was able to photograph a Chestnut-faced Babbler with my "pea-shooter" Nikon P90. Ramon confirmed it as a CFB. I didn't even know it was a "lifer" for me....Poch sr.

BTW, where we photographed the White-throated Kingfisher, I had seen a White-breasted Waterhen. Perhaps, reason for this is because Dion Pulan has several Tilapia ponds in the area, and can also breed frogs (hopefully not mosquito larvae). Ramon, maybe we can convince Dion to make the ponds as the feeding ponds for the water birds....Tito Poch.

I really love the Olive-backed Sunbird. They rarely come to my garden here in San Pedro, Laguna, now, ever since my Malunggay tree toppled during a typhoon.

Rey Sta. Ana & Alain De Pascua: Come to BK Valley now. The Island Flycatchers (Mountain Verditer-Flycatcher) are now back at BK Valley from the upper mountain areas. Ramon & I took photos of this bird January 2, 2012, about 10 in the morning.

Aside from the expensive "merienda" that Ramon paid for JJ & me (p6000 ttl), the atmosphere is so hot, I was perspiring heavily!

Come on over, Alain. And the best time to go to BK Valley is just after a typhoon weather....heavy rains and windy.....when the sun shines bright, and the birds are hungry.

BTW, when I took the photo of the Grey-streaked Flycatcher and the Elegant Tit, I was not using a tripod. In my excitement, my hands were trembling. So I had to lean firmly on Ramon's Suburban for a steady shot of the 2 birds....Tito Poch.
