As a lad, my father taught me the name of the dove above: "Paloma silvestre" (silver dove).

As I said, it takes "blood, sweat & tears" + mud, rain, fog, 'accidents' to take beautiful photos like this.

Whenever I see these birds, reminds me of my youthful years in a barrio in Pangasinan. We called them "bilit tsina." Beauty ang mga photos, sir.

Great photos of the Red-keeled Flowerpecker, Ely. I had my 1st photo of this bird at the Tagaytay-Talisay mountain road about 3 years ago (but, of course, not as good as your [almost alive!] photos).

Hi Eric. I read from an old issue of the National Geographic of an orchid enthusiast who sprayed his flowers with a certain French cologne to attract hummingbirds, and was successful. I am still looking around for that issue of NatGeo, will let you know asap cologne's name. Beautiful photos!

Beautiful photography, Ramon. By the way, Olive-backed Sunbirds are back near my house. They disappeared when my 'malunggay' tree was blown down. Perhaps, we should plant a malunggay tree in BKV to attract Sunbirds. Just a thought.

Ely, the Common Tody-flycatcher "reminds" me of Peter Lorre...sinister-looking. Very nice photos, indeed.
