Hi, I would like to share the photos i took in Candaba swamp. I really had a great time on my first try on wild birds photography, its very challenging for a beginner to take photos of birds in their natural habitat. Also, I would like to thank all you guys i met yesterday, you're all very accomodating. Here's my take: HERON

settings:
Camera : Nikon D200 Lens : Nikon 300mmF/4EDIF+Tamron 1.4 TC( seems not com- patible as it hunts on AF mode, quite slow) used manual focus instead, used a manfrotto monopod. Metering : Spot Shutter : 1/1000 Aperture : F/6.3 Exp mode : Manual ISO : 800

@ Tina: Thanks, yeah the kwentuhan was so lively. @ Romy: thanks also. got a question Romy, any idea why the nikon lens hunt/slow on af mode with the Tamron 1.4tc. thanks

@ Romy: thanks also. got a question Romy, any idea why the nikon lens hunt/slow on af mode with the Tamron 1.4tc. thanks Jun, I'm not familiar with Nikon's AF system, but generally speaking, adding a 1.4x TC reduces the amount of light reaching the AF sensor by half, and that may cause slow AF.

Jun - Nice meeting you lakay! Nice shots!
William - I don't know if we met in the Swamp last Saturday. But nice shoots too!
Tina, Neon, Ding, Nestor/Pitsew?, Ixi, Alex, Jun, Cel, Tere, John - it's very nice meeting you all in the Swamp! The kwentuhan and fud are superb!
Since the GREATER SCAUP has been confirmed sighted not only by Olan, Cel and me but by Tere and others (they saw 7), we hope one of you guys and master Romy can get picture of it/them. They were sighted at the pond at the back near the two bushes.
Btw, the Greater Scaup was last seen in Laguna de Bay in 1906, very rare.

The PBP gang when we meet is always a blast!! If not for Nestor's beer and the under specs of the hut, where I hit my head on the bamboo several times, we would have photographed the GS!!! My pupils got dilated and everything was overexposed already that is why I placed the lens cap on, for I think an hour, maybe more. Sorry, I need to do it to drive back home safely. he he he he!! ;D Thanks Nestor enjoyed every drop of you beer!! Cheers, Neon

Looks like you have the reflexes and natural talent, for bird photography, to have followed the bird with a series of shots when you flushed it. I'm glad to have met you last Saturday. William, Great take even on long range shots with a 300 mm + 1.4x lens!! Cheers, Neon
