Is this the Male Pygmy Flowerpecker?

We mounted a new assault at Alcoy, Cebu hoping to catch a photo of the Cebu FP, but no go again! Nilo, Godo, Osawa Sang, and your's truly had the pleasure of capturing this one though:





We think it's the Male of the Pygmy Flowerpecker - we could be wrong, of course, so Sir Steve has got to come to our rescue yet again! :-)

Hi Bobby,
Yes, you are right - the male Pygmy. As I said in another thread somewhere (or at least I think that I said it), when on Cebu, as soon as you see this type of bill (when looking at Flowerpeckers obviously), then you have one of two species; either pygmaeum, or trigonostigma. When you see a pug-nosed kind of thicker and shorter bill, then you can start thinking about other FP's (including the Cebu FP).
