Lol.... a highlander malkoha.... congrats, Neon! Any other montane birdie? This was not a birding trip, birding was just incidental. I was the just driving my daughter and her friends to Benguet and Sagada. When they were still asleep I sneaked out. ;D Here's another one from Batad, Benguet A White-eared Dove with a different color pattern, is it a different mountain race? what? sorry for the blurred photo, was too tired from the trek already to properly hand hold my gear..he he he

I think there's only one race of the WEBD in Luzon - leucotis. I got one too at Mankayan, Benguet (Elev. 1615 m):

Yeah, it is the ranging race. The quality of the photo exalts the nape and auricular coloration - slightly out of focus and then you are right on that particular zone with the incident light rays.
