Tina, this is just a garden variety Little Egret whose bill was accidentally run over by the hard wheel of a carabao-drawn cart....

( <---- White-shouldered Starer, gathering his senses, starts worshiping the ground that Tina walks on.) OMG, if my eyes serve me right, it might not be the expected Black-faced Spoonbill!!! Could it be the Eurasian Spoonbill ( Platalea leucorodia) If so, it might be a NEW country record!!! www.orientalbirdimages.org/search.php?action=searchresult&Bird_ID=1125Super-duper-ultra-mega-giga-terra CONGRATS, idol!Romy

Waiting for Steve .... crossing my fingers and toes If it's the eyes you cross, and if you do it long enough, this creature could become the Four-legged Spoonbill, a very rare bird, indeed... ;D

Tina, Yes, unmistakeable. Platalea leucorodia. Send the news through the WBCP list-server, and also send it to the Records Committee! Nice find!

Wow Tina!
Congrats on the new country record.
Lots of birds in Candaba now. I think we should also congratulate the guys from Kaakbay and the local government for their efforts in maintaining the habitat.
Candaba, here we come!
