Got close to this common resident while inspecting the damage of supertyphoon Ompong. Long-tailed Shrike ( Lanius schach) Habitat - Open country and scrub. Shooting info - Bued River, La Union, northern Philippines, September 17, 2018, frame grab from a 4K video capture, Sony RX10 Mark IV + Uniqball UBH45 + Manfrotto 455B tripod, 600 mm (equiv.), f/5, ISO 100, manual exposure, near full frame resized to 1500 x 1000.
And here's a short clip of the bird in full HD (from which I grabbed the frame above):

Very, very nice Ka Mastah. That RX-10 Mk4 can really do video and stills very nicely! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Ka Bobby! Any info at your end regarding the availability of the Coolpix P1000 locally? Not yet. The P900 is available on sale, but without RAW, it ain't for me. :-)

RAW capture is a must have. I reckon it should be available before Christmas. The new 600 f/4 III is very nice at just over 3 kg, but the cost is way beyond my budget. I'm very happy with my Nikkor 200-500 and D500 combo, and even that is gathering dust - no birds to shoot! I think my birding days are over, unless it's just a side trip or something ... :-)

I think my birding days are over, unless it's just a side trip or something ... :-) Same here, Ka Bobby. I now put a premium on portability and convenience. My RX10 IV in its tiny bag is always in my car (or in the top case of my bike), and it allows me to do some "accidental" birding on a non-birding trip. I got close to the LTS again yesterday, and this time I shot in still ARW. The highlights and shadows are much more easier to tame with ARW than with a heavily compressed frame grab .
Shooting info - Bued River, La Union, northern Philippines, September 21, 2018, Sony RX10 Mark IV + Uniqball UBH45 + Manfrotto 455B tripod, 600 mm (equiv.), f/4.5, ISO 100, 1/160 sec, manual exposure, ARW capture, near full frame resized to 1575 x 1050.

Wow indeed Ka Mastah! That shot shows what a great photographer can do with just about any camera. The highlights are so well controlled too, specially when using RAW. Details and shadows are also excellent!
I am really looking forward to the P1000, and if it works well enough, I may end up chucking my DSLR gear. :-)
