I captured this Elegant Tit a while back and I'm still wondering if this is a female or just an immature bird. Cheers, Neon

With that much black in the throat, I'd go for an adult, probably a male because the KG says the female is duller.
Nice shots!

It is an adult male for me - the female adult rather than black are kind of a smoky charcoaly blackish and the immatures even more so.

Thanks Bobby, Romy and Steve, Bobby this is an Elegant Tit If those pictures are males then what is this? The more macho male!! ;D They were together when I captured them. Now, from your descriptions of the female to be duller, I think the previous pictures have a duller color than the latter, so, is it the female then? Thanks! Cheers, Neon

Hi Bobby - will review the first photos again once I have my Harrap (the monograph for Tits) - unfortunately I have to just use my memory until my home ISP is back.

I always find them in pairs but they're not that easy to capture. Got a lot of photos but unfortunately not one is good enough for posting. Good job Neon.
