These pictures were taken this month in Alabang. Sorry they're really blurry, I just wanted to know .. what bird is it? It has a very loud, high pitched call. It also hops on the ground.

Hi Sylvia, What you have here is a Striated Grassbird ( Megalurus palustris) there's a picture of it on our online bird guide.

Thank you Neon! I made a list of Alabang birds based on the online albums of Romy and Tina. This bird wasn't there, so I was totally thrown off. Now I know -- thanks!! Would also appreciate it if anyone out there can share a list of birds found in Alabang!

HI Sylvia, My alabang galleries aren't complete. Striated grassbirds are pretty common in our village. Here's a list of birds I have seen in our village : Eurasian Tree Sparrow Coppersmith Barbet Black Crowned Night Heron Striated Grassbird Plum-Headed Parakeet Cockatoo Long Tailed Shrike Brown Shrike Olive Backed Sunbird Black Naped Oriole Yellow Vented Bulbul Pied Triller Pied Fantail Philippine Falconet Blue Naped Parrot Crested Mynah Rose Ringed Parakeets Blue Tailed Bee-Eaters White Collared Kingfisher Chestnut Munia Scaly Breasted Munia Red Keeled Flowerpecker Golden Bellied Flyeater White Breasted Woodswallow Arctic Warbler Grey Wagtail Lowland White eye Blue Rock Thrush Philippine Pygmy Woodpecker Grass Owl Violet Cuckoo Oriental Cuckoo Egrets Zebra Dove Green Racquet tail Swallows Hmmm I think that's about it.
